Welcome to
West Park Baptist Summer Day Camp 2011, our 28th year of learning,
activity and solution to the Summer Problem for ages 5 to 15 years olds!
What is
the Summer Problem?
1. During the school year parents are confident that their children are
well cared for, well supervised and involved in educational and recreational
activities with their school.
2. During the summer, working parents need a place that will provide supervised
activities in a clean, safe atmosphere.

Limited
Enrollment
In order to retain a balanced camper/counselor ratio, enrollment will
be on a first-come first-serve basis. Please indicate on the registration
form the weeks you desire to attend. Our Junior Camp is for ages
5-12. Our vibrant Teen Camp is for ages 13-15.
Listed below are the themes for this year's camp season. We emphasize these themes during the specified weeks in various aspects of the program. On Fridays, we have a special dress-up time in accordance to the theme 8:45-9:00 a.m. time. This is a fun time in which the campers vote on who is the best dressed. All the participants receive a prize and the winner receives a grand prize.

Here's
what's included:
1. Learn
a sport
Various
sports wil be taught by our staff to enable each camper to have an introduction
to basic sports rules and skills. Other games will also be a part of the
program.
2. Daily
Chapel Time
Our daily chapel program teaches Biblical principles of morality, respect
for God, parents and country. While we expect every camper to participate
in chapel, there will be no pressure placed on them to join our church
or be baptized. The Bible is taught from a literal standpoint. The "King
James" translation of the Bible is used for uniformity (campers are
not required to purchase Bibles, but will have the opportunity to earn
a Bible if they wish). Pastor Michael L. McClure is responsible for the
organization of the chapel programs.
3. Lunch
Each child should bring his or her own lunch with a cold pack as necessary. The church has no facilities to heat or prepare food. A Kool-Aid type drink will be provided at no additional charge. Children should bring healthful snacks for the break times. We suggest lunches and snacks that do NOT require refrigeration. While there is always water available, children may also purchase dirnks if they desire.
4. Nap
Time
Nap time will be available on an as-needed basis for those in the 5-7
year age group. Children need to bring their own nap mat in the
event of a nap time.
5. Variety
of Classes
Each year we offer theme weeks with a variety of classes, including crafts,
etiquette and life-skills training, self-defense training, time for competition
and fun games. We schedule guest speakers and special events coordinated
to the theme of the week.
6. Swimming
The West Park Baptist Church is one of the few summer day camps to have
an onsite swimming pool. All campers will have the opportunity for swim
time, daily. Swimming is under the supervision of our adult counselors
and includes use of our large swimming pool.
